Soy Candle Workshop - July 12th, Sat 1pm
Each guest will make a 100% soy wax candle with cotton wick & clean fragrances. You will have the opportunity to choose a scent from the scant bar as well as dried flowers. Everyone will also be able to
decorate the outside of their candle jar with
stickers and embellishments.
Come alone or with friends. Feel free to bring snacks & refreshments.
Ages 14 & up.

Hi. My name is Liz Kemp, the maker behind Up Cycle Candles.
I have been reusing and repurposing items since "before it was cool". Using old, un-used items and making it relevant again is exciting, fun and cost effective. I have always enjoyed the craft required to re-invent irrelevant objects.
Candles have always been a staple in my home. As I got older, I learned the importance of good candles & what we are breathing in when using non-soy waxes. Good soy candles were expensive, and between my daughter and I, it was getting costly. Habitat for Humanity and similar thrift stores have been places I have always frequented. So it hit me to make my own candles with items I could find in thrift stores. It's sad to see the items sitting on shelves with no home. Now these items get a new life and we ALL get to have good soy candles at half the cost. I've also started making candles using personal items of meaning for people. This brings so much joy to see someone's Grandmothers wine glass come out of the closet & have a new beginning. My hopes are to also save some of these items from ending up in landfills.
